After manager Antonio Conte’s public transfer window criticism of Tottenham, with some reporters believing it highlights an ‘internal political mess’, it appears the Lilywhites have been dealt another major blow over the Italian.
The Lowdown: Conte sends message?
The ex-Chelsea boss, in an interview with Sky Italy (transcribed by The Mirror), candidly expressed his disappointment in Tottenham’s January dealings.

Indeed, Conte was public in his message that, technically, Spurs had ‘weakened’ rather than strengthened last month when going by the numbers – having let four players exit with just two new arrivals.
He also questioned the club’s ‘vision’ with people inside Tottenham apparently shocked at what was said during his sit-down (Jonathan Veal).
Now, as a ‘French source’ shares news out of Europe, Football Insider have lifted the lid on a major Conte blow for Spurs.
The Latest: Spurs dealt major Conte blow…
Indeed, the European source has made a behind-the-scenes Spurs claim involving Conte, saying that he is now ‘eyeing a swift exit’ from N17.
This comes as Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain take a strong interest in appointing the 52-year-old as they ‘line up a move’.
The Verdict: Crunch time…
Amid ex-Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino’s questionable future at the Parc des Princes, news of the billionaire-owned club eyeing Conte as his replacement could worry chairman Daniel Levy.
What’s more worrying, however, is Conte’s alleged stance that he wants to leave north London due to a lack of financial backing – with it being debatable that there are few managers out there on his level.
Time will tell what comes of this claim, but if the former Inter man gives Spurs until the summer to make amends, transfer chief Fabio Paratici simply must pull out all the stops.
