Having come under criticism from sections of the Manchester United support for his performance against Aston Villa in the Premier League a couple of weeks ago, Andreas Pereira appeared to be on a mission to silence some of the critics on Thursday night.
The Brazilian helped the Red Devils register a comfortable 4-0 victory over Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League, and when looking at the underlying numbers of his performance, it really paints a clearer picture of the sizeable influence he had. As per Sofascore, Pereira had five total shots on goal, made three tackles, had 64 touches of the ball and had an impressive 89% pass accuracy.

And after seeing his performance, United fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the midfielder.
A few fans were quick to hail him for bringing out his bag of tricks in the game, and suggested he finally showed a bit of his hidden Brazilian flair.
How quickly things can change. In the space of little more than two weeks, Pereira has gone from zero to hero, and more than anything it shows that players can turn the mood around with an impressive performance. The real question now is whether the Brazilian can produce some form of consistency to really showcase his talent.
