The bets are flying in ahead of the start of the new season, focusing on who will win the league, which manager will get sacked first and also who will win the Premier League’s top scorer. Last year’s race was hardly a contest, with Robin Van Persie running away with the prize, notching 30 goals pretty rapidly before Wayne Rooney embarked on an end of season run, taking his tally to 27 and making the table look a bit more respectable.
The usual suspects will be in the hunt this season you’d imagine as the big clubs do battle to win those four Champions League places. The strikers at Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea can expect to fill their boots against the weaker Premier League opposition, while other sides like Liverpool, Newcastle and Spurs also manage to find the back of the net with regularity.
