Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to Steve Bruce’s latest comments, as the manager struck back at criticism from Michael Chopra.
The Magpies have endured a horrific start to the season, and unsurprisingly fans are already growing tired of their new boss.
Rafael Benitez’s shoes were always going to be tough to fill for the former Sheffield Wednesday boss, and he’s not exactly been helped by players announcing they are unsatisfied with their role in his system.
Chopra seemed to echo that sentiment this week, telling TalkSPORT: “I’ve spoken to some senior players at the club – I won’t mention their names – and under Benitez everything was drilled into them on the training pitch: the team shape, how they were going to play – every day.
“Bruce has come in, and some of the players don’t know their jobs – they are not really working on their shape.”
And it’s fair to say these comments have not gone down well with Bruce, who has hit back at the 35 year-old, speaking in his pre-Tottenham press conference.
As it would with most managers, Chopra’s implication that Bruce isn’t even coaching the players properly has certainly struck a chord, and the gaffer’s response has initiated quite the response from the Toon Army too.
Many see the comments as “laughable”, while one simply pointed out that the 58 year-old already seems “rattled”.
