Having been a part of the Ajax side that reached the Champions League semi-finals last season, Andre Onana was one of the few players that stayed put from that squad over the summer.
The likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong left for Juventus and Barcelona respectively, but the Dutch outfit’s number one goalkeeper remained at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
But now, according to The Daily Mail, the 23-year-old has put Premier League clubs on “red alert” after making a decision on moving to England this summer.
The report further claims Onana is likely to cost between £40m-£50m, and that whilst his preferred destination at this moment in time is, Chelsea, he is also “understood to be interested in a move to Tottenham”.

After hearing about their links to Onana, Spurs fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on a possible swoop for the Cameroon international.
A couple of fans compared him to Paulo Gazzaniga, and insisted that their Argentine is actually a much better goalkeeper than Onana.
Another couple of supporters of the north London side harked back to their clash against Ajax last season, with one fan suggesting that he “looked dodgy”.
At 23, Onana has already enjoyed plenty of big-game experience, particularly in the Champions League – he even kept a clean sheet in the first leg of Ajax’s semi-final against Tottenham last season.
And with Lloris having turned 33 in December, bringing in a younger goalkeeper could breathe a new lease of life into this Spurs side.

Whether Jose Mourinho sees it in the same way remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Tottenham fans react to this ace’s display against them in the FA Cup.
